How to win Monopoly Deal Often
Monopoly is a very popular game that takes a long time to play and a sole goal to eliminate all the other players. Keeping in mind that these others are your friends, this is a poor way of maintaining a healthy, supportive, caring relationship. Monopoly Deal, a card game version of the game, is vastly different and fixes these problems from the base game.
Monopoly Deal is a fast, card management game where, instead of removing your friends from the game, you're collecting money and property to complete three color sets. This is a great improvement. Now let's get you ready to win your next game.
1. Remember your goal
There's a lot of different things you can do in the game that has the satisfying take-that feel to it. However, the cards that you will be drawing should only be played with your goal in mind. You only need to complete three sets of property types. So look at what similar colors you have in your hand, look at matching colors your opponent plays, and look for drawing potential so you can find your missing piece(s). The faster and most efficient you are at doing this determines who will win that round.2. You don't have to play three cards
The game rules say that you are allowed to play up to thirds cards per turn. This is great if you have a bad hand and would like to try and get the drawing bonus of having no cards left in your hand. Most of the time, however, you will have a moderate to good hand where you can plan out your moves and conceal your game-winning cards for when the time is right. Once you have all the needed cards in hand and on the table to win the game, then you can calculate how many turns of playing three cards you'll need to complete the strategy and win.
3. Plan before completing a set.
Completing sets are how you win the game, but this puts a Target on your head to loss that set to other players. Try to keep your properties separated into incomplete sets until the right time when you can win on one of your turns. It might also be wise to save a "Just Say No" card as a backup.4. Save your counters for game-breaking situations
Typically, someone would use their "Just Say No" card whenever one of their properties is threatened. Every threat is not a game threatening move. That counter card could help you win the game when you time things right. Keep in mind, those "Just Say No" cards can negate other "Just Say No" cards as well.5. Play your cash and collect property as rent
Play cash cards down as soon as you get them. This will help protect any property that you have or will obtain in the future turns. Also, on the flip side, when you see someone with very little cash or not the right amount of change, charge them rent so that they have to pay with their properties. Make them work to get them back; then they will be playing catch up for the rest of the game.6. Conceal as much as you can
Because players are not allowed to touch your cards, stack them in a way that will conceal the gems of your stash. First, stack all your cash into one pile with the smallest bill on top. This way the opponents don't know what denomination of bills that you have in your possession. Second, always place the wild properties under the matching colored properties. When the opponent looks over to see which property they want to take, let them see only the normal properties.7. Have an idea of who many of specific cards are in the deck
Almost like counting cards, if you know a threatening card has been all played on the table, then you can plan better your strategy. Here's a detailed list of all the cards in the deck and their quantities:Total - 110 Cards
28x non-wild property cards
11 x property wild cards:
1x light blue/brown1x light blue/railroad2x pink/orange2x red/yellow1x dark blue/green1x green/railroad1x railroad/utility2x any color wild card
